Chanukah Celebration with Congregation Ner Tamid

Friday, December 15th, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

We’ll start the evening with a community candle lighting, so don’t forget to bring your menorahs and candles! The Klezmer Five, featuring our own Musician Jim Brenner will provide musical entertainment, and we’ll sing along with beloved Chanukah songs and other favorite tunes.

After a potluck dinner with latkes, jelly donuts, and other great dishes, we’ll have Ner Tamid’s signature Shabbat at Table, with prayers and songs for Shabbat.

In the spirit of Chanukah, Dr. Tammy Bottner, daughter of our own Al and Rosalee Bottner, will present an inspiring story of adversity and survival. Dr. Bottner will discuss her best-selling book, Among the Reeds: the True Story of How a Family Survived the Holocaust. She will sign books and answer questions at the conclusion of the Chanukah celebration. It is always inspiring to hear about how people overcome hardship, and eventually thrive, especially as we celebrate the Festival of Lights, a reminder of a more ancient time when the Jewish people overcame adversity.

Free to all!

RSVP – call 941-755-1231 or email by Sunday, Dec. 10th.
Be sure to tell us what pareve or dairy dish you are bringing for the potluck dinner.
